How it works:

Stage 1: Firstly I construct an abstract human or animal form using found pieces, often from a single location such as a woodland, beach or garden.

To create the character and shape of the piece, I use leaves, bark, acorns, twigs, lichens, seeds etc, fixed together with adhesives and preserved with layers of shellac.

Stage 2: These finished pieces are then taken to a London foundry where they are vacuum cast into bronze, chased and patinaed.

Stage 1: Front

“The Corset” in its original form before casting.

Stage 1: Back

“The Corset” in its original form before casting.

Stage 2: Front

“The Corset” cast in bronze. The finished piece.
